Michel Terpins is a successful rally driver based in Brazil. He is the brother of the famed rally driver and fellow competitor Rodrigo Terpins. He recently participated in the 22nd Sertoes Rally held in July. He was slated in the Prototypes T1 category. The rally flagged off at Goiana on a grueling journey of close to a hundred miles. This is the biggest off-road rally with special sections in Bahia and Tocantins.
The ace driver was forced to bow out of the race after his car rolled during the contest. He escaped unhurt with his co-driver but could not finish the rally.
Michel Terpins has participated in numerous rally competitions driving a T-Rex built by the MEM Motorsport team. The car is certified Carbon Free by the Green Initiative. The car’s emissions are offset by adding new trees to the Atlantic Forest. He was in the runner-up position in the 2015 Cross Country Rally.
He won the second stage in the 24th Sertoes Rally and went on to clinch the fifth position overall. Speaking at the end of the second day of the event, Michel Terpins described the race as challenging and exhausting. He set a good pace and dominated the rugged mountains and deep gorges. This was the seventh try at the coveted rally title.
He participated in the “Rally of Two Friends,” a special section of the Bull Sertoes Rally held in Botucatu City. The muddy test section covered 130 miles and attracted 104 participants in various categories. The slippery road knocked out many competitors. It tested the skill and endurance of the participants to the limit. He bumped into a tree and lost the rear wheel section but emerged runners-up overall.
In 2016, he took part in the 5th Rally Sota SC. The race started at the Lages Garden Shopping in Santa Catarina. The 280-mile stretch set the pace for the Sertoes Rally in September. Michel Terpins won the rally in car #322 as well as the Prototypes T1 category.
This secured him the second position in the overall Cross Country Rally. Michel Terpins termed the race as a true test of performance that tried the car’s capabilities and his willpower. He made his tenth attempt at the title in 2017 in the 25th Bull Sertoes Rally. This time, he upgraded his car to boost the performance and make it more robust.
